Description
A nose that expresses elegance and aromatic refinement. Fragrant aromas of ripe fruit with hints of spices and minerals, an intense and persistent bouquet. Mouth-filling, fine ripe fruit, a soft structure that develops with a dense texture of ripe, soft tannins that provide length and a delicious finish. A balanced, first-class wine that will develop over the next twenty years.
In Tuscany, the great wines are known mainly from Montalcino, the Chianti-clasico municipalities and from Bolgheri. From the latter come the famous "Super-Tuscan" wines, Tuscan powerhouses that, against the rules of the DOC, consist of non-indigenous grape varieties. Often a blend of Sangiovese with French varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot. Tenuta di Valgiano is located in the picturesque Lucca (DOC Colline Lucchesi), which is less known by name than Bolgheri but is certainly not inferior in quality!
