Château Laballe
3 products
Château Laballe was bought by the Laudet family in 1820. After working for more than 20 years in the spice trade in the West Indies, Jean Dominique Laudet decided to make his dream come true and dedicate his life to his great love, Armagnac, the oldest produced alcohol in France. Today, the estate is still known for its delicious Bas Armagnacs and now also its mineral and aromatic wines. Cyril Laudet and his wife Julie are now the 8th generation. He makes wines in which tradition and innovation form a beautiful blend and create pure terroir wines.
Château Laballe is located in the heart of the Sud-Ouest, in the Côtes de Gascogne, between the Landes and the Gers and was granted AOC status in 1981. The area consists of various soil types, including alluvial soils, slate, salt and clay, combined with the Atlantic climate and the grape varieties Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc and Ugni Blanc, which together produce crisp wines with a rich aromatic palette. The concentration of oxidized iron gives freshness and minerals to the wine.
