Description
Tight, dry, fresh, mineral, a bit round and very salty in the aftertaste. Less citrus (grapefruit) than Louvetrie. Literally like licking a stone! Pure natural wine.
In the north-western part of the Loire lies the appellation Muscadet S&M. The local name of the grape is Muscadet, which can be confusing because it is something completely different from the sweet Muscaat! The official name of the grape is Melon de Bourgogne, which has nothing to do with Burgundy.
The cheerful Jo (very recognizable because of his gigantic moustache) is a pioneer in biodynamics in the Loire. His wines are crystal clear and some of the cuvées can also age well.
“ Jo Landron remains one of his region's most conspicuous over-achievers, and his name (or that of one of the domaines with which he is affiliated) on the label a virtual guarantor of fine quality .” David Schildknecht
