Description
Heavy oxidative white Vacqueyras, with enough fresh acidity, firm bitterness. Complex.
The Vacqueyras AOC is best known for its red wine. Only 3% of this appellation is white, but it is certainly worth discovering. Montirius has been a family business for five generations and is now owned by Christine and Eric Saurel. The domain is named after their three children Manon, Justine and Marius.
The total vineyard surface consists of 58 hectares. Soil of clay and limestone in the form of earth and round pebbles. Three plots with vines of Grenache Blanc (45 years old and planted by Eric Saurel's grandmother), Roussanne (10 years old) and Bourboulenc (10 years old, ripens late and is therefore not very popular in the region). Manual harvest and destemming.
