Description
Lively ('Baluma' is the Piedmontese translation of 'dancing') Nebbiolo from the Langhe, Piedmont. Peppery, red and black cherries. Delicious with stew.
The winery, which was founded by Diego Conterno in Monforte d'Alba between 2000 and 2003, is actually much older. Diego had already been active for 20 years with his cousins Claudio Claudio Conterno and Guido Fantino. Today he is helped by his son Stefano. The vineyards grow Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nascetta. Since 2006, the vineyards have been cultivated organically and partly biodynamically. Only since 2017 have all wines been certified organic and since the 2019 vintage also DEMETER (biodynamic).
Two vineyards with Nebbiolo both in 'Regione Ferrione' in Monforte d'Alba, just outside Barolo. Both have a south-west location at 480-500 meters altitude. Age 10 and 15 years, soil of clay and calcareous marl.
