Description
Very mineral, elegant style of Grüner Veltliner. Not only green apple, but also yellow and red apple, pear, lime, flowers and spicy, white pepper.
100 years ago, daily life on Hoher Rain was mainly underground due to mining. Today, the miners are no longer there, but they have left behind a water storage.
The Geyerhof wine estate has been in the Maier family's possession since the 17th century. In 1988, pioneers Josef and Ilse Maier started growing wine exclusively organically. Ilse Maier even wrote a book about organic viticulture, which is still used as a manual by organic producers all over the world. Since 2015, the new generation has been helping Maria and Josef Maier in the further development of this family business. They work with even more care for biodiversity and liveliness. A vineyard full of flowers, insects and birds. Since 2020, the wine estate has also been Demeter certified.
