Description
Château La Grolet is just like Château Peybonhomme-les-Tours owned by fifth generation winemakers Catherine and Jean Luc Hubert. The two châteaux are not far from each other, but in a different AOC. La Grolet is in Côtes de Bourg.
Château La Grolet is located in the French commune of Saint-Ciers-De-Canesse in the beautiful landscape of the Côte de Bourg. Château La Grolet extends over 54 hectares of land, of which 38 hectares are planted with red grapes. In the remaining hectares you will still find the unchanged natural structure of centuries ago with its natural meadows, forests, streams and springs. The vineyards are divided into small terraces and steep slopes. Château La Grolet is therefore proud to bear the name Côtes de Bourg in a landscape that is also called “Little Switzerland of Gironde”. The Côtes de Bourg is appreciated as a Bordeaux appellation with a strong personality.
Château La Grolet is currently still organically certified but they are in the process of becoming Château Peybonhomme-les-Tours to work completely biodynamically.

In the vineyard: Gravel terroir, average age of the vines is 55 years old. Harvested by hand. Organic, biodynamic farming.
In the wine cellar: Only the use of indigenous yeasts. After fermentation, 2 weeks of skin maceration. Maturation in new wooden barrels for 1 year.
