The Alluvions 2021 is light, juicy and and refined fragrant. Full of life with a soft perlant. A blend composed of Aramon and Carignan from 100-year-old vines in Souvignargues and Syrah from 25-year-old vines in St. Côme and Maruejols.
100% carbonic maceration for 5 days in fiberglass barrels.
The young winemaker Joé Chandelier started his own domain in 2019 with 5.5 ha in the communes of Souvignargues and St Côme and Maruejols in the Gard. The vineyards are planted with Grenache, the almost extinct Aramon, Syrah, Carignan and Chasselas. The wines are vinified in the cellar without any filtering or clarification and with only the grape's own yeasts. Depending on the cuvée and vintage, Joé decides whether a small pinch of sulphites is added just before bottling and whether the wine is still matured in old Burgundian barrels. The vineyards are surrounded by trees and hedges, so no insecticides have to be used. The vines are very old, on average 80 years old, and yields are kept low.
