Description
The Four Monkeys also make wines from grapes from a single vineyard under the name 'The Dance of the Wind': the "Molino Quemado" and "La Isilla".
This is La Isilla, loosely translated as 'the Island'. It is the most elegant and delicate wine of the bunch. The grapes come from the 1 hectare 'La Isalla' vineyard, planted with 90 year old Garnacha Tinta plants and a tiny bit of Cariñena. The 4 Monos team managed to restore this old abandoned vineyard, but yields are still very low: an average of one barrel (!) of 500 liters per year. The first harvest was in 2014.
The wine is soft, delicate and subtle, almost shy. A carafe wouldn't hurt here. Wild berries, strawberry compote, herbs, the taste parade doesn't stop. What a refined mouthfeel, delicate tannin and a long finish. Terribly beautiful, and you deserve it.
