Description
Elegantly sweet Chenin Blanc from the Loire from Château de Passavant. Late harvested grapes underwent a process of noble rot (Botrytits Cinerea) resulting in refined aromas of apricots, tropical fruit and honey. Fine acids keep the balance with the sugars.
Château de Passavant was built by Foulques Nerra in the 12th century on an old fortress site on the Layon river. The wine cellar, on the other hand, is very modern.
In the vineyard: Slate soil with sometimes sand or gravel, vineyards are located 60 m above sea level, good natural drainage. Manual harvest.
